The heart of Bergslagen is a perfect destination for those who want to hike. Here you can experience the fantastic Västmanland nature up close. There are several wonderful hikes for you to choose from, for example the beautiful Landsberg triangle with the hammock forest or in the nature reserve Hälleskogsbrännan after the big forest fire in 2014 as well as walking trails in beautiful Ängelsberg with its world heritage.

The utility route
In Fagersta there are several hiking trails. Among other things, the Bruksleden, which stretches from Västerås in the south to Malingsbo in the northwest and Avesta in the northeast. In total, there are approximately 50 miles of marked hiking trails in Bergslagen’s beautiful and varied nature. Click here

Nature reserve
There are also several nature reserves with pleasant hiking trails around Fagersta. For example, the famous Hälleskogsbrännan, the area after the big forest fire in 2014.
